Residential Solar Power System
Solar Energy is a great alternative for creating electricity as it is a non-polluting, reliable and renewable energy source. Installing a solar system in your home can effectively decrease your electric bill while adding to your home's value.
Solar Photovoltaic (PV) is a technology that converts sunlight into direct current electricity. This electronic process occurs naturally in certain types of material, called semiconductors. The electrons in these materials travel through an electrical circuit, powering the electrical devices in your home.
The Two Main Types Of Solar PV Sytems
A Grid-Tide solar system is connected to the utility power grid. This grid connection will allow you to save more money with solar panels through better efficiency rates, net metering, plus lower equipment and installation costs.
An Off-grid solar system is not connected to the utility power grid. Off-Grid solar systems can be cheaper than extending power lines in remote areas. This system would be ideal for homes in and around Vancouver Island. This system requires battery storage and a backup generator.
