What is the EV Ready Rebate Program
A new incentive program has been launched for developing an Electric Vehicle (EV) Ready Plan and Electrical Infrastructure in Multi-Unit Residential Buildings (MURBs). Don’t miss out, funding is limited on total maximum rebates of up to $97,000.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The EV Ready rebate program provides an incentive for MURBs to develop an EV Ready Plan and implement EV Ready parking. Rebates include:
- 75% rebate of the total costs of an approved EV Ready Plan, up to a maximum of $3,000
- Up to $600 per EV Ready parking space, to a maximum of $80,000 per MURB
- $1,400 per charging station, up to $14,000 per MURB
- $97,000 in total maximum rebates available
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
The program is available to MURBs located in BC, constructed prior to March 31, 2020.
- Building Owners
- Building Managers
- BC residents
- Strata Councils
- Building representatives who reside in or have oversight of an eligible MURB
- Owners or managers of MURBs that provide Level 2 EV charging parking spaces, including shared parking areas or private garages
REQUIREMENTS FOR AN EV READY PLAN
To be approved, an EV Ready Plan must include a minimum of one (1) EV Ready parking space per residential unit. The parking space must feature a complete electrical circuit terminating in a junction box capable of providing Level 2 EV charging.
The plan must include:
- An electrical capacity assessment
- Minimum charging performance requirements
- Charging options for the parking spaces
- Cost Estimation
- EV energy management systems
REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
To be eligible for the electrical infrastructure rebate of up to $600 per parking stall, applicants must first apply for pre-approval and a number of requirements must be met. TDR Electric is able to help you through the process:
- An approved EV Ready Plan by BC Hydro
- At least one (1) designated EV Ready parking space per residential unit (i.e. parking space equipped with a complete electrical circuit terminating in a junction box capable of providing Level 2 EV charging)*
- A junction box labelled for EV charging only
- Electrical permits as required by Technical Safety BC or your local municipality.
- Activated infrastructure installed with any EV Energy Management System
- Infrastructure that achieves applicable charging performance requirements
